Anxiety; an After Effect of Covid-19

According to the Lancet study there has been an increase in the amount of anxiety, depression or irritable individuals are experiencing, This is due to the inflammation that Covid causes, studies show about 34% of people who get covid will have a mental health event. We’ve been hearing about Covid and inflammation for some time now, and now we know conclusively that Covid-19 can cause inflammation in the brain which can cause us to experience a heightened sense of anxiety.

The good news is that the anxiety we are experiencing due to covid can be treated, by eating foods that reduce inflammation such as fresh fruits and vegetables, reducing and or eliminating foods that increase inflammation such as sugars and carbs that turn into sugars when digested. There are also some vitamins such as quercetin, zinc, omega- 3 fatty acid, and curcumin can help calm down the inflammation.

If you have experienced this I encourage you to comment below with your story and share what helped you get through the emotional or mental health issues you experience post Covid-19.
